A decision has been made. I'm leaving the TXSG, Texas State Guard.
There have been a lot of things going on this past weekend, one which involves me looking to move real soon.
brian_berlin, if you wish to take over the comm site I had started, I will turn the controls to you. I will stay as a member to see updates and probably even post from time to time. :-)
Also, selenite, sorry I haven't answered your posts to the TXSG comm site. We at the TXSG, I know in my BN we don't have any physical requirements to run and such but brian_berlin might could tell you more about his BN.
Brian, I was going to ask you about the TXSG Rangers unit. Being a former FF/EMS Medic, I still remember a lot of my training and such and thought I would go back to that field to help out.
I think for now I will pass on this. I appreciate it though.

I know I will miss the TXSG. I have enjoyed it very much and all that I got to do. I know I'll keep my Class B uniform and a pair of my BDU's.

Well, I have come pretty damn close to deciding what I'm going to do here in the very near future and that decision is to move or not move.
I am still deciding/planning/weighing options of what, where, when & how but it is looking like I will be moving out of this house and and finding my OWN!! place to live!

Now, having said that, I am going to go all my crap this weekend and chunking stuff out the door that is of no use to me and stuff that wouldn't be worth trying to sell. Clothes, misc. stuff, all that crap is going in the trash!

Other stuff that is good/new/etc will be listed in the waco community so watch for this in the coming weeks.

Also, miscca, if you remember, you were going to send me those computer cables? Well, go ahead and do with them whatever you need to do. I won't be able to store them or keep them in my new place.

I've tried that using Pain here on computer but I just screw it up.

Well, as far as things going bad, I knew it had to stay on that track. But this one was my own fault so I have no one to blame.

Yesterday at work, I am working in a part of the building that has no AC in it yet and it was a hot & humid day.
During the morning hours, I was sweating of course and just before lunch, I felt "tired" but nothing unusual really, just "different" really. Sign #1!
After lunch, I was REALLY sweating my butt off and felt really different at this point. Sign #2!
About 1:45pm, I was kneeling in front of a fan they had out there, now this fan just blows air which is good but doesn't circulate anything really AND you have to be in front of it to feel any air, and I noticed I wasn't perspiring any! BIG sign #3!!!
A little after 2pm, I was outside trying to get some air and cool off and I noticed I couldn't spit, or even make spit! I was dry heaving! Sign #4 and I knew then what was happening!!
Granted I had been drinking water but not a great deal of it.
About 230p, I was sick to my stomach and the boss sent me home. He wanted me to go to ER but I refused to go.
This morning, I feel like crap but I'm going in cause I have work to do that can't wait this week.
Yeah, I'm stubborn alright! *G*

The Texas State Guard has been activated and are sending out commo units to assist in Hurricane Dean and are being stationed at Kelly AFB in San Antonio.
Our local ham radio club has called up those of us who are being deployed to assist with radio comm. should it be needed.

Now it all depends on where Hurricane Dean decides to go.

Yes, I give up this morning. Once again something has gone wrong this morning and now I have to go out and spend money to replace what broke. I give up!!!
At LEAST once a week for the past 4 weeks something has broken that has meant spending a shitload of money to repair/replace which means I'm broke til payday!!

This is the first real weekend off in a long time and I plan on doing a whole lot of NOTHING! this weekend. :-)
There is a catch to having this weekend off. I know already that we will be working 10hr days next week and then working next saturday.
Oh well, I really needed this weekend off to "try" and relax. I've got bills coming out of my..., well you know, and I'm stressed about that but I'm gonna try and relax and do as little as possible.

I do know I want to go look and maybe try on a new pair of work boots I hear so much about. They are called Red Wing boots and I'm hearing very good reviews about them so far. Only bad thing is they cost, I mean COST!! The pair I've seen on-line that I like cost about $144-188 dollars! But if they are as good as people say, they would be worth it cause I'm on my feet so much every day walking on concrete that the pair I have now, by the time I get them off at night, my feet are killing me and supposedly, Red Wing boots are suppose to help with the strain on the lower back muscle. If I find a pair, I know I'll be drooling til I get some. *BG*

I think I'll go and see if I can find me food for breakfast. Later folks. :-)

I'm making great money now and with it comes a whole lot of trouble!! *g*
So far this month, I've had my car break down requiring a tow and then the mechanic, total for all this? $500!!!
Then, I had a water leak under my house and so a plumber had to be called. Total for this? $370.00!!
I won't even start with the bills sitting here on my desk!

Great, I'm making good money now and so Mother Nature decides I don't need it and she keeps throwing things at me that need to be fixed, pay, loaned, whatever the case, anything other than what I need, like a better pair of work boots.

Speaking of which, does anyone here on my flist know much about Red Wing Boots? I hear tell they are some very good boots, durable, etc. I know too that they are expensive!!
SO if anyone knows something good or bad about Red Wing Boots, please let me know. Thank you.

Well, I think I'm going to go relax a bit. I'm going to try and go to the store early in the morning for this weekend it is tax-free weekend at the stores and people will be packed from wall to wall buying up stuff.

Some days you have that "Why is that" thought go through your head?

Like the following:
1. Why does someone send an email to a supplier and then quickly picks up the phone and call the supplier to advise them that that person forgot to add something to the list they JUST emailed!--I mean come on now. If your going to send an email and then call them, wouldn't it have been just as quick to call them to request the stuff?

2. Why does someone say "See you later" and then that person returns less than 30 seconds later?

3. Why does a boss jump your ass at work cause you had to go do the #2 thing in a clean bathroom, which is about 100ft from where you work, which HE is the one that showed you where it was at on your first day at work, then yells at you for being so far away from your job!?

4. Why is it that some people make sense when they talk of politics but don't run for office & people who make no sense what-so-ever of politics run AND win!?

5. Why is it I'm sitting here typing these things out when I could be taking my shower and getting ready for work tomorrow? *G*

6. Why is it you see ads in the newspaper people selling laptops for very little, but you can't afford it at that time. But when you finally have the money to buy one, no one is selling laptops at all?

Ok, I am now more than ever ready to go to TMS, Texas Motor Speedway, to see a NASCAR race. Mainly the Nextel Cup Dickies 500 on Nov. 5th, 2007.
I know I'll have the money to go and I want to so badly go and see a race and hopefully, seeing & meet my favorite driver, yep, Tony Stewart!! *BG*

Oh man, just a couple of weeks and I can make this all happen with a simple keystroke! :-)

Yesterday, I was out for a little while at our local Wally World and found myself a brand new laptop computer for $400. I had the money but dang it, better sense prevailed and I walked away from it!
Shoot. Why did better sense have to play a part right? LOL

Also yesterday I went Lowes & bought myself a new pair of strippers I needed for work and while I was there, I bought one of those Pur water filter thingys. Our local water tastes like crap and I'm hoping that with this water filter thingy on the faucet it will make our water taste somewhat better. *keeps fingers crossed*

Well, it's time to head out and get the trail for work. Long day ahead I can see it already.

Decisions, decisions.
I'm looking through the IBEW on-line merchandise store and see so many things I would like to get. Nice part of this is that all the things I would like to buy isn't that expensive.

But the hard part is deciding what, which one, how many, etc of what I want to get. *BG*

Well, i got most everything done I wanted to today. Some I'll just have to wait on I guess.
I know one I'll have to do, either this week or next, is tell the boss I need a day off at work so I can take my husky in to the vet and take him to the doggy beauty shop.
He needs to see the vet. There isn't anything wrong with him, he just needs his rabies shot and maybe some worm pills or whatever the heck it's called. But he needs to go and I'll have to take a day off work to do all this.

Anyway, got the last load of laundry in and waiting on it right now. I've eaten and now I'm relaxed and contented.
Think I'll go and watch TV for a bit.

If I took time off, I'm not sure what would happen. Seems like even on my day off, I still have more to do so therefore, it's not really a day off.
Like today, there is quite a few things on my list, now, some of these are things I have to do and some are I should do and some are I could do but if not, no biggie.
One I HAVE to do is work out in the front yard of my house. Last week I put out some fertilizer for the grass and BAM!!, the grass didn't grow any better but the damn weeds did!!! LOL Damn weeds!!

Other than the norm for a sunday, wash clothes, clean house, etc, it looks to be another busy day, then off to work tomorrow for more of the same but this week, I'll be working late each day, meaning 10hr days around for me and as much as I like the OT pay and such, at his moment, I am REALLY REALLY thinking of taking a full weekend off this week!! I need a break!!

So how is everyone else doing out there? Still enjoying the summer vacation time? *G*

I know people have been busy, I have been, but it's been over a week since I posted so I thought I would do a quick post right now.

Work has been going good. Having to work out of town & I make the drive home everyday but this week I "may" be staying in the town I'm working in due to having to work all day and then having to work part of the night shift as well. Some of the work we have going on can only be done at night so....

Other than rain just about everyday, not much some days, everything has been pretty good really.

I know I had more I wanted to write about but right now, um, it has seemed to have disappeared. *g*
If I remember, I'll post again later today. LOL

I just watched one of my favorite shows, "Kelly's Heroes" and its one I haven't seen in quite some time and at the start & end of the movie is a song called "Burning Bridges" by the Mike Curb Congregation.

I know you can find the lyrics on Yahoo Music and I'm sure other places but what I want to know is just what is this song referring to?

Anyone have any ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions? Anything?
